Teach them (god's Word) to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Bible Curriculum and Chapel

Christian education is an important component to our students' daily lives and is a part of how we educate each student. Students in grades KP – 8 memorize bible verses, participate in theology classes, and attend chapel on a weekly basis. Positive Action is the curriculum that is used KP – 8th grade. The continuity of curriculum allows students a solid foundation in Biblical principles. Students are taught that the Bible is the ultimate authority as it is God's written word. Denominational practices are not taught in the classroom.

Preschool:

Each week, our preschool students attend Chapel. Within the service, we pray, sing, collect an offering and hear a short message. Our messages are Bible-based and our goal is to share classic Bible stories with the children, while teaching them that God loves them and cares for them today and always.

Elementary:
Bible education is integrated into all subjects and is taught by the classroom teacher. Students have a daily Bible lesson and/or devotional, as well as having bi-weekly Bible verses for memorization. Character education is incorporated into the Bible lessons through the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and character traits. Each month focuses on a specific Fruit of the Spirit and character trait. Weekly chapel for elementary grades is on Wednesdays, and all Parkway families are invited to attend (Chapel is currently closed to family members). During each week's chapel service, one student per classroom is acknowledged for the Fruit of the Spirit/Character Trait. Students sit with their classes and participate in a time of worship and a Bible lesson. Each classroom also takes a turn in presenting the chapel message.

Middle School:
As students enter Middle School, the focus switches to a personal understanding and faith in Jesus Christ. All middle school students take a Theology course as part of their classes. The curriculum begins in Genesis and by Eighth Grade, students have walked through the entire Bible. Students also memorize and are tested bi-weekly on various Bible verses. Weekly chapel is for students only, giving them the opportunity to develop and express their own relationship with Christ. Chapel includes a time of worship, a Bible lesson, communion and middle school video announcements.

Student Organizations

Student organizations at Parkway Christian School play an integral part of the educational process. These opportunities are the perfect complement to the classroom, not because students learn how to become more proficient in certain subjects or activities, but because they learn how to become productive people in society. Valuable lessons in applied Christian ethics, morals and values and leadership are learned in activities outside the classroom. Under the guidance of teachers, students gain a personal awareness of honesty and integrity with themselves and others.

Community

Parkway Christian School is one body with many members. Working together, we can make the impossible a reality. There are so many different ways to help. Find out how you can use your talents or gifts to help the community at large. We are so appreciative to everyone who volunteers their time and resources to fulfill our school's mission.

If you aren't yet involved, contact Rebecca Bossman for more information.
